Museum Manager

To advance the Society’s mission, in the spring of 2018 the Historical Society Board hired Kate Bennett as a part-time contracted employee.

Kate BennettKate works for the Society as the Dublin School Museum Manager.  She earned her undergraduate degree in History and German with a minor in Museum Studies from Beloit College and is currently working towards her graduate degree in Public History with a certificate in Museum Studies at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Kate came to the Society with previous experiences working for Milwaukee County Historical Society, Wright Museum of Art & Logan   Museum of Anthropology, and Kenosha History Center.

At the Historical Society, Kate’s responsibilities include to accept and accession museum donations; research stories and collection items;  conduct oral history interviews; maintain the Society’s social media; help plan Society events; write newsletter articles, create exhibits for informational presentations and meet with residents interested in preserving the community’s history.  Kate has been wonderful in  helping the community discover Pleasant Prairie’s past and sharing those stories.

Join me in following Kate’s posts and photographs of the Society’s events, volunteer efforts to renovate the Dublin School, and collection donation stories by liking our Society Facebook Page at Society.  Kate has also established a Gofundme Page to help with our fundraising efforts for the renovations to the Dublin School.

We welcome Kate to our Society!
